Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the social determinants of health, including socioeconomic, political, educational, racial, psycosocial, and environmental effects. Disparities in access to, cost of, and quality of health care access will be discussed for various populations. Individual factors will be considered in context with community and environmental factors, as well as broader societal factors affecting communities. This course has been pre-approved by the Association for Child Life Professionals (ACLP) to partially fulfill the academic eligibility requirements needed to sit for the Child Life Specialist Certification exam.
