Catalog description

An introduction to the study of planet Earth. This course will cover such topics as Earth's materials (rocks and minerals), geological history (fossils, extinctions), processes (plate tectonics, natural disasters), and the impact of human activity on the planet including climate change. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory.
